Low Brass Artist

Andrew Spang earned to degrees in tuba performance from the Eastman School of Music and The Boston Conservatory and has appeared as a soloist/recitalist in six states.  He is a founding member of The Lyric Brass Quintet, winners of the Baltimore Chamber Music and Catch a Rising Star Competition, and is a member of the American Studio Orchestra and Soulful Symphony.  He has recorded, toured and/or performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Handel Choir of Baltimore, Orchestra of St. John’s. Eastman Wind Ensemble and Eastman Trombone Choir.

Andrew performs professionally on tuba, euphonium and bass trombone.  He has taught private tuba and euphonium at the University of Rochester and secondary tuba and euphonium at the Eastman School of Music.  He has served as adjunct faculty at Western Maryland College.  Andrew performed and recorded with the Eastman Trombone Choir under John “Doc” Marcellus on contrabass trombone, the first person to do so since Roger Bobo.  Andrew has served as an official Stu’s Music Shop Performing Artist.
